What head support pillow would you recommend for flat head baby?

Author: My baby is 4 months old and he has a very flat head developed from sleeping on the back too much. Since sleeping on the back is the recommended position to avoid SIDS, I am not sure it is good to let him sleep on the sides. Anyone knows would a head support pillow helped to correct the flat head? If yes, any particular pillow you can recommend? Thanks!

I think you’re doing the right thing keeping him sleeping on his back, but I have heard to help with the flat head, more tummy time during the day is best. This way you can watch over him and it’ll correct itself. Do as much tummy time as you can when he’s awake.

Try the pillow that people get for long car rides or plane rides thats oval shaped with the hole in the middle(kinda like a toilet seat look) and inflate it halfway, that way its not too tall for him and the back of his head isn’t really being pressed against, and its just the bare minumum to help help without hurting him.
He is still young enough that you may be able to reverse the effects by putting him on a different side at each nap, but maybe not. Letting the baby sleep on his side is safer and more effective than a pillow. NEVER give a child that young a pillow or stuffed animals or lots of fluffy blankets in the crib!
My son and daughter have round, beautiful heads because I rotated them at every nap.
The pillow I recommend is MORE TUMMY TIME. No pillow, or sleep positioner is safe. At 4 months you may want to try a Bumbo seat for when he’s awake too.
