PostHeaderIcon When can baby sleep on tummy and with blankets?

My baby is 4 months old and has just now started rolling over from her tummy to her back. If, in the middle of the night in her crib, she rolls from her back to her tummy, and stays like that, is it safe? How about when to put blankets/pillow in her crib? She has VERY good neck support by the way.

PostHeaderIcon Should someone with 2 broken arms and several fractured ribs sleep upright?

My husband substained these breaks/fractures about 4 weeks ago and is still having trouble sleeping. He has been sleeping in the corner of the couch with pillows behind his back, the armrest with pillows supporting one arm and several pillows supporting the other. He also uses an ottoman to support his legs and feet. He is still waking up with painful ribs and sometimes his arms shift in his sleep causing him great pain. I have thought of putting comforters under the head of the mattress so he could sleep upright in bed and have more support but he is a bit afraid of the position. Can anyone make some suggestions to help us through this? Thanks.

PostHeaderIcon How many pillows do you personally sleep with? Are you a side, back or stomach sleeper?

Me, I use 4, (2 for the head, 1 of those long pillows between the legs, and 1 regular for extra support for the upper body). I am mostly a side sleeper. Dream on.

PostHeaderIcon Why do i have to sleep on my back?

Alright. i know your supposed to sleep on your side when your pregnant. I just want to know why?

I used to sleep on my back, and it is THE most comfortable position, but since around 24 weeks, i started to sleep in my side. Its really painfull. My neck has started to hurt, i do use a body pillow to support my legs. But my pillows are kind of flimsy. They don’t really support my head and neck.

My fiance is always waking me up in the middle of the night to tell me to turn on to my side. Hes really stubborn about me sleeping on my back.

The question i really want answered is, why do we have to sleep on or sides. Will it hurt the baby to sleep on my back?

By the way, im 31 weeks.

PostHeaderIcon Is it ok to sleep propped up on my back being pregnant?

I am getting ready to enter my 3rd trimester. I am trying to sleep on my preferred left side, and I turn to my right side as well with the pillow between my knees, and a pillow to support my upper body. But I find that the only position that I am comfortable in and can get sleep is on my back with pillows propping up my head, and a pillow under my knees. Is it safe for my baby when I sleep that way?

PostHeaderIcon When your baby was a newborn where did he/she sleep?

I am due any day now and this is the one thing that we still have not figured out. We have a crib in the nursery but for the first few weeks he probably wont use it as its to far away for feedings, we don’t have enough room at the side of the bed for a full co-sleeper, a bassinet is very expensive for something that will only be used a short time. We do have an inclined sleep positioner which is a kind of pillow wedge and we were thinking of putting that between us in our bed and putting him in with us but my mother who is staying with us thinks that he should have his own separate sleeping area in our room somewhere. Other than that we have a baby swing but I wouldn’t let him sleep the night in there.
Any advice or suggestions?
