PostHeaderIcon Have you ever been told “you are doing terrible”?

My 14 week olds back of her head is flat. I have tried everything, extra tummy time, letting her sleep on her side during the day I even bought a back of the flat head support pillow thing but nothing is helping it. My cuzin who has 3 children told me “I have had 3 and never had that problem, you must be doing a terrible job at this parenting thing, doesn’t she have tummy time, how on earth could you let her head get like that?” I felt so horrible, I try my best to be the best parent I can be, and then get told I am doing a terrible job. I felt so horrible, she was telling me it can be permanent, I feel like I ruined my babies head :( She sleeps over 9 hours, and only likes sleeping on the back of her head, does not like to put her head to the side at all. I don’t know what else I can do :( I am hoping its not permanent and it will go back to normal when she can sit up, crawl etc. Have you ever been told something similar, whats was your reaction? How should have I handled this? I just got angry and left.

PostHeaderIcon Lower back and hip pain?

Hi ladies,
I need to know if anyone has any advice on severe lower back and hip pain. I have done a lot of research and reading on the symptom and seems it is very common once the third trimester is hit, but my back and right hip are absolutely KILLING me! It actually feels like my right hip is trying to fall off my body it hurts so bad. I’ve tried a maternity pillow boppy, a maternity support sling, warm bath, heating pad, cold compress, sleeping on my left side, and massage. Nothing seems to help. My doctor just brushed it off and told me that it was a normal symptom and recommended I do everything I have already done. I am not in labor or pre-term labor, it is just pain. Hurts to sit, stand, lay, walk, change position, you name it. Any advice on what I can do that can safely help with the pain that I haven’t tried yet? Anything will be graciously accepted and tried. Thanks….

PostHeaderIcon Going home from the hospital after delivery?

We have an infant car seat, it has a five point harness, but only 3 are in place and it doesn’t have that upside down U pillow to support the baby’s head ( it’s a used one – it expires 2012). Would the hospital allow us to take our baby home with this arrangement (this is our first child)?

I’m thinking of riding at the back of the car with our baby to support him. But does anyone know if I could buy those upside down U things separetly from the car seat? Where? And what is is actually called? =)

Thank you for all your answers =)

PostHeaderIcon Sears.ca best choice of pillows?

I would really appreciate any recommendation for a good pillow that supports the neck and head well. Nothing too high and firm but nothing too plush either (that your head sinks in). If it helps any, I tend to sleep on my side but also sleep on my back sometimes. I am simply looking for something comfortable, preferably with natural fibers, that offers good support, and can be purchased through Sears Canada.

Thank you.
I realize it is a personal choice, but I am simply asking for suggestions.

PostHeaderIcon supported sitter and unsupported sitter?

What is the difference?
if the baby can sit without any pillow or something support her back, BUT the parent help her in sitting position first?
my baby is almost 5 month, still can’t do both but if she against the pillow, she could.
I little confused with the term support of without support?
