when i was first learning how to breastfeed, my lactation consultant recommended the boppy pillow. it helped for positioning, but after i got comfortable with nursing, i found it easier just to sit "indian style" and hold her on my lap to nurse. i'm very petite and the boppy made my daughter come up too high for me to stay comfortable while nursing. i ended up using the boppy pillow for a week to nurse. my daughter used it for tummy time and for support sitting up, so it wasn't a total waste =D

My friend got me a boppy and I didn't use it often until my son (at 8 weeks) is close to 13 lbs. My arms get tired from holding him up to my breast so the boppy has been great! I also saw imitation ones at Walmart..not sure how well those work though.

We love the Boppy. You can use it also for propping up the baby as it grows!

If you are a thin woman Boppy-style are great.

If you're of medium build, a Boppy-style might work, but an adjustable one is better.

If you're plus sized, any that have a velcro strap like My Breast Friend is the must have!

I have both a Boppy and My Breast Friend, and in spite of what is perhaps the cheesiest name in history, My Breast Friend is my favorite. I have the foam one, not the inflatable, and it's miles better than the Boppy for nursing support.

Definitely the Boppy! When your arms are resting on the Boppy, you don't need extra back support. Also, you ca move it around somewhat to make it comfortable. I used it with my son and loved it!

I have a Boppy and never used it for nursing - I found it uncomfortable. Instead my son uses it to help him sit and for tummy time sometimes. I found another pillow - the Bosom Baby - it is shaped like an L, and it is wonderful!

i suggest the BOPPY pillow, it doubles later as a good sitting up tool. i loved it, however I am a small stature person, the normal BOPPY is a little narrow for bigger people. I believe they sell wider sizes. I loved it, even though it wasn't sold as a nursing pillow.
