Lower back and hip pain?
Hi ladies,
I need to know if anyone has any advice on severe lower back and hip pain. I have done a lot of research and reading on the symptom and seems it is very common once the third trimester is hit, but my back and right hip are absolutely KILLING me! It actually feels like my right hip is trying to fall off my body it hurts so bad. I’ve tried a maternity pillow boppy, a maternity support sling, warm bath, heating pad, cold compress, sleeping on my left side, and massage. Nothing seems to help. My doctor just brushed it off and told me that it was a normal symptom and recommended I do everything I have already done. I am not in labor or pre-term labor, it is just pain. Hurts to sit, stand, lay, walk, change position, you name it. Any advice on what I can do that can safely help with the pain that I haven’t tried yet? Anything will be graciously accepted and tried. Thanks….

I have this exact problem! Tylenol PM is my friend right now.
Also if you have someone to help you I have the best thing ever:
Lay on your left side with your painful right hip up. Then have your partner rub his elbow in circular motions on your hip, lower back and butt. Seriously, this works so well for me. Some days he has to do it really hard, other days just a little pressure is all I need. It is the best thing in the world for me.
Or sometimes, I lay over my bed, which is kinda high. With my feet on the floor and my butt extended out and have him do the elbow moves on me this way.
Good luck!
Sounds like the baby is in a position and laying on a nerve. Aside from trying to get him/her to move there isn’t much you can do aside from what you have done. Every so often the baby will move and get off of the nerve that is causing the pain. You feel some relief from the pain. Unfortunately, they tend to get right back there and you’ll start hurting again. Wherever the baby is laying if he/she has been there for some time then they are obviously comfortable. Lol. Those are the joys of motherhood that I don’t miss. Lol. Four pregnancies were enough for me to call it quits. Good luck Hun and I hope your little one gives you some relief soon. =)
Welcome to the club girl! I think you just have to deal with it…I’m 35 weeks, and I won’t take medicine even tylenol, so I’m in a lot of pain all the time. Just remember that its going to be over soon! Thats what gets me through.
Girl, I know EXACTLY how you feel!!! Oh, I have the worst back and hip pain too! Sometimes to the point where it makes me want to cry. I tried using this little cervical pillow that i ordered online, but it didn’t do any good. So today, i went and got a king sized pillow. I took a nap today and put it between my legs. It helped a little bit. My doctor told me to try Epsom Salt in the bath. That helps a little bit too, but not to the point where i feel 100% better. The best advice I can give is to do some stretches. Go to youtube and type in prenatal yoga. They have some wonderful stretches that will help you.
Good luck!!
I’m 28 weeks
i had the exact same thing when i was pregnant, and trust me, i did everything i could to make that darn hip pain go away and it wouldn’t budge!!! I asked my doctor and she too said that it was normal, and that i will have to do my best to try and live with it. I mostly had the pain on my left side , so what i would do to try and ease the pain was to lie on my right side and have my boyfriend, sister, or whoever was around at the time pull my leg in various directions. I know it sounds pretty weird but it actually gave me some temporary reliefe
If your baby is sitting on a nerve someone told me to place a warm cup of whatever youre drinking on yourbelly and the baby is suppose to mve towards the warmth and if the baby is too forward place an ice cream scoop in the fridge for a bit than place it on your belly and the baby should move away from the cold Good Luck!!!
